Life is difficult and it is a journey full of experiences to learn from. Everyone struggles at different parts of the journey. We are not here to “fix” everyone but to help them learn how to manage their life and relationships in a more positive, effective way. So much of that lies in understanding yourself and what makes you do what you do. Once you identify those challenges, it is easier to make changes. Counseling is a place to be able to be yourself and look at parts of you that are difficult to face with someone who is non-judgmental and objective. Although it can be painful, in the end it will make your journey well worthwhile. Natalie believes in integrating therapy with insight, spirituality, and humor when appropriate. "Therapy is difficult and can get heavy. I try to help clients move thru the pain but also keep it into perspective."

I believe that therapy is an amazing journey that can provide you with a life you never thought possible. Jennifer Rothschild said it best when she stated: “In the adversity we dread facing, we discover life of which we've only dreamed.” The issues people come to therapy for are not things we typically want to dissect and re-live, but doing so can give us incredible outcomes. I believe self-awareness is the key to making this happen.

I believe that within every child, adult, and family is the natural capacity to heal.  Healing your family takes effort. No one said this would be easy!  Marriage takes work, and so does raising children.  The good news is you do not have to do it alone.  I will walk with you as your guide as you begin to heal yourself, your child, your relationship, and your family.  It is my philosophy that no one in a family is isolated. Difficulties with one family member almost certainly affects the rest of the family.  I enjoy working with children and am a strengths based Registered Play Therapist. I specialize in using play and toys to open up communication and processing of information at the child’s developmental level.  Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words. Play therapy is a treatment approach that uses a child’s natural tendency to “play out” their reactions to life situations. Toys in a play therapy room include games, puppets, art supplies, and sand trays. All toys are carefully selected to facilitate creative and emotional expression from children.  The Greek philosopher Plato said it best when he said, “You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation” While my focus is mainly children and families, I also have developed a passion for couples counseling.  When I look at a family as a system, I see the couple as a primary tool for reaching the rest of the family.  When the couple is hurting, the whole family is hurting.  My passion in couples counseling is to help the couple rebuild, restore, and enhance that primary relationship.

I believe that through working in counseling, an individual is making an investment that lasts an entire lifetime. So often, we go through life feeling unhappy about certain things, but have no idea how to change them because they have become so much a part of who we are. I am committed to assisting individuals in developing greater understanding, insight, and awareness of their personal issues, and helping them develop the tools and skills that are necessary to make healthy and empowering changes. I believe that through counseling, individuals can see a positive impact on all aspects of their lives and relationships.

I believe within each of us lies an inner strength. Sometimes because of childhood events, current life situations or self-doubt, we lose sight that this inner strength exists within us. I believe each person can learn to re-discover their inner abilities and talents with the help of God, family and friends. This strength is what helps us face any battles that come our way, whether it be at the workplace, school, or in personal relationships. Counseling can be a safe place to start this process and get some extra support and guidance.

Imagine Hope Counseling Philosophy
At Imagine Hope, we believe in the philosophy of relationship mentoring. This process consists of helping our clients as individuals or as couples with their inter or intra personal relationships.

How are we different?

We feel our approach is better aimed at helping clients address and resolve the root cause of their issues.
Many counseling services usually only offer one or two different approaches to their clients.
  • We at IHCG use an eclectic approach. We don't use cookie cutter therapy.
  • We provide the type of counseling that is appropriate for your specific needs.
  • We use a variety of techniques and methods to assist you with whatever life is tossing your way.
  • We also believe in a mentoring type relationship with our clients.
  • We practice what we preach and don't pretend to be on a pedestal.
  • We each work on our own recovery daily.
  • We don't pretend to have all the answers but will work with you to help you find your answers.

What does it cost?

All of our therapists bill on a per hour basis and have flexible appointment hours.

How do I set up an appointment?

To set up an appointment with any one of our experts simply fill out a connection card and we will contact you within 24 hours on normal business hours. You may also give us a call at 317-569-0046.
